Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 12/12/25

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the A-Star Student Recruits platform, operated by A-Star Global Education Ltd ("A-Star", "we", "us", "our").

By registering for an account or using our platform in any way, you agree to these terms in full. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

About Us

A-Star is a UK-based student recruitment and compliance platform. We connect eligible students, verified agents, and trusted institutions through a secure, data-compliant ecosystem. We do not provide regulated immigration advice and are not responsible for Student Finance England decisions, university admissions, or visa outcomes.

Eligibility

To use this platform, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Use your real name and identity
  • Submit only truthful and accurate information
  • Have permission to act on behalf of someone else (if you're an agent or representative)

You may not use our platform if you are subject to sanctions, legal restrictions, or have previously been banned by A-Star.

Platform Use

You agree to use the platform responsibly and in accordance with all applicable laws. This includes:

  • Not submitting false, misleading, or forged documents
  • Not impersonating another person or misrepresenting your authority
  • Not interfering with or attempting to bypass any platform security features
  • Not uploading viruses, malware, or corrupt files
  • Not using the platform to solicit or advertise third-party services

All activity on your account is your responsibility. Do not share your login credentials.

Document Upload and Verification

Our platform uses automated tools to scan and verify uploaded documents. By submitting any file, you confirm:

  • It is original, unaltered, and legally yours to submit
  • It is not artificially generated or manipulated (e.g. AI-edited certificates)
  • You understand we may reject, report, or flag any suspicious file
  • You accept that we may log and store document metadata for compliance and audit purposes

Important: Attempts to submit falsified, altered, or AI-generated documentation may result in permanent removal from the platform and notification to relevant authorities.

Data Protection & Privacy

We comply with UK GDPR and apply strict internal data protocols, including:

  • Encrypted document storage in UK/EU data centres
  • Role-based access controls (agents only see their assigned students)
  • Audit trails for all document and communication activity
  • Right to access, update, or delete your data at any time (we aim to respond within 5 working days)

You can view our full Privacy Policy here:

Data Retention:

  • Active student and agent data will be retained for the duration of use and for up to 7 years after last platform activity (for compliance purposes).
  • Inactive or unsubmitted student data may be deleted or anonymised after 12–24 months.
  • University data will be retained for institutional reporting and audit history, in line with sector expectations.

Communications Monitoring

All communications inside the platform — including messages, uploads, and status changes — may be monitored and recorded for compliance, audit, and training purposes. This includes WhatsApp messages integrated through our platform.

We do not monitor or track communication conducted outside of the A-Star ecosystem.

Acting on Behalf of Others

If you're using the platform on behalf of a student (e.g. as a recruitment agent), you confirm that you:

  • Have the student's informed consent to act on their behalf
  • Will only upload documents the student has reviewed and approved
  • Will not sign or complete financial documents without student consent

We are not liable for any action taken by agents without appropriate authorisation. Students who suspect misuse should report it immediately to:

Agent and Staff Conduct

Agents using our platform must:

  • Complete mandatory safeguarding and compliance training
  • Submit students through the platform only — no side deals or cash arrangements
  • Never alter documents or misrepresent eligibility
  • Only access data needed to support their students
  • Agree to re-training if quality issues arise

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently remove any agent or staff member found to be in breach of these terms. Serious misconduct may be reported to universities or relevant authorities.

Limitation of Liability

We are not responsible for:

  • Decisions made by universities, Student Finance England, or visa authorities
  • Delays caused by third-party services or public sector agencies
  • Missed application deadlines due to incomplete documentation
  • Losses resulting from incorrect information submitted by users
  • Technical failures outside of our control (e.g. platform downtime)

Our liability is strictly limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Use of Third-Party Services

We may integrate with or use third-party services (e.g. document AI, analytics, WhatsApp APIs). While we select these providers carefully, we are not liable for their performance or any issues arising from their services.

Where third-party services are used, we remain responsible for compliance under UK GDPR and education sector guidelines.

Intellectual Property

All content, logos, system features, and designs on this platform — including the name Judith (our CRM) — are the intellectual property of A-Star Global Education Ltd.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, or commercially exploit any part of the platform without written permission.

Escalations & Complaints

If you believe your data has been misused, your agent has acted unethically, or something doesn't feel right, please report it.

Email:

We aim to respond within 2 working days and resolve all reports fairly, confidentially, and in line with university and sector expectations.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the platform at any time, without notice, if:

  • You breach any of these terms
  • You upload fraudulent or misleading content
  • You act in a way that damages the reputation of A-Star or its partners
  • You attempt to bypass platform security or misuse access to data

You may delete your account at any time by contacting our team.

Dispute Resolution

If you have a dispute with A-Star, we encourage you to raise it informally first. If resolution cannot be reached, both parties agree to:

  • Attempt mediation (where appropriate)
  • Accept the jurisdiction of UK courts
  • Treat arbitration outcomes (if used) as final

These terms are governed by English law.

Updates to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. You will be notified of significant changes via the platform or by email.

Continued use of the platform after changes means you accept the updated terms.
